About Watamu
Watamu is a small resort village inside a marine reserve, with some of the best snorkelling on the Kenyan coast, Mida Creek on one side and the Arabuko Sokoke forest inland.
Half day or full day?
A half day covers most of Watamu itself. A full day leaves time for a trip out of town: Malindi is 25–40 min away, Kilifi is 50–70 min away and Vipingo is 1h15–1h45 away.
Fuel within the agreed area and the driver’s waiting time are included in the day rate.
Local tip
Malindi Airport is about 20 km, or 20–30 minutes, from Watamu. If a domestic flight works for you, it saves around two hours in the car compared with flying into Mombasa.

Can the driver take us outside Watamu?
Yes. Popular day trips include Malindi, Kilifi and Vipingo. Tell us the route when you book so we can quote correctly.
Should I fly into Mombasa or Malindi for Watamu?
Malindi Airport (MYD) is much closer, about 20 km or 20–30 minutes by road. Mombasa has more international flights but the transfer is about 2–2.5 hours. We cover both.
How do I pay?
By M-Pesa, card, or cash in KES, USD, EUR or GBP. The price is fixed when you book on WhatsApp and does not change on the day.
