About Malindi
Malindi is the historic Swahili town where Vasco da Gama stopped in 1498, with a strong Italian community, its own marine park and the red sandstone gorges of Marafa inland.
Half day or full day?
A half day covers most of Malindi itself. A full day leaves time for a trip out of town: Watamu is 25–40 min away, Kilifi is 60–90 min away and Vipingo is 1h15–2h away.

Local tip
Malindi has its own airport with domestic flights from Nairobi. We can meet you there as easily as at Mombasa.
